Eventually we started adding cards and prints with our artwork and that was a lot easier and less messy to make. In the beginning we actually made glycerin soap shaped like robin eggs and amethyst. When we started, the product itself wasn't really the focus we just knew that we wanted to incorporate our appreciation for the natural world. We didn't have much of a direction at first but we knew we wanted to participate in craft shows. IW: Vincent and I had been dating for about two years and we were living in Boston when we decided to start The Bower Studio in 2011. MK: How did you two meet, and what made you decide to create The Bower Studio together? You’ll learn something new and cool for sure!

After reading our interview below, I encourage you to forage their blog.

It’s filled with insights about their illustrations, and enlightening information about herbs and plants. I’ve enjoyed getting to know Isa and Vincent through our High Five Maker interview, as well as through their blog page. It’s such a thoughtful way to breathe new life into everyday items. Each card is embedded with a range of wildflower seeds like Snapdragon, Black-eyed Susan, and Sweet Alyssum, or herbs such as Parsley, Chives, and Basil. We're delighted by the plantable seed paper their notecards are printed on. Our shop carries their line of enchanting illustrated cards and art prints, highlighting North America’s diverse flora and fauna. This month, I’d like to introduce you to Isa Wang and Vincent Frano, the creative and multi-talented founders of The Bower Studio. We provide qualified instructors who are certified teachers as well as student volunteers to make sure participants learn dance, work on motor skills and get some social interaction in a fun-filled, loving environment.Welcome January 2022 - planet earth made it to another year. Dancers should attend all classes from January-May in order to learn the recital dance. The dancers follow the instructions in the listen and move songs, get their wiggles and energy out, work on gross motor skills, and have fun dancing with their buddy volunteer. This class is designed to be a fun, social class that focuses on building relationships between the special needs dancers and our volunteers. Classes typically meet on the second Saturday (check website for changes) of every month from 11:00am-12:00pm.

Our once a month Saturday classes are free of charge. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum and loving atmosphere provide the perfect environment for children and adults with special needs to explore the art of dance. People who have difficulty remembering written words will get a boost to their self-esteem when they recognize a melody or a beat and repeat the movements they have learned. The rhythmic patterns of music and movement often resonate at a much deeper level in people living with special needs than language or even pictures can. Dancing has been shown to benefit individuals with special needs in a variety of ways. Studio Five is thrilled to be offering dance classes for children and adults with special needs including Down’s Syndrome, Autism, and Cerebral Palsy.
